Emmanuel South Oakleigh Cricket Club mourns the passing of Eden Watts who played with the Club from Season 2000/01 until Season 2003/04 when he moved to Cairns half way through the Season to pursue a sea change.
He joined the ESOCC, “KRUSHERS” in 2000/01 with his brother, Jade, and they both made an immediate impact. Eden was a tall, strikingly athletic young man with a mane of shoulder-length, wavy brown hair (Not unlike Fabio, actually) and a bright and cheeky demeanour. A tear-away quick bowler when he got his accuracy right and could smash the ball a mile! He took to the Krushers quickly.
Some of his on-field achievements in his short career with The Krushers CC
Mercantile C-Grade Players’ Player Award - 2001/02
SDCCL 3rd Grade – Batting AND Bowling Awards (Most runs and wickets) - 2001/02
Runner-Up Club Champion - 2001/02
His body finally succumbed to the ravages of the losing battle he was fighting against his demons.
The Club sends its condolences to his immediate family and his partner and respects their wishes for privacy in this period of mourning. RIP, Eden. Gone too soon.
